Let’s face it, last Christmas was a huge washout thanks to the restrictions of lockdown. Therefore, this year, many people are looking to make up for lost time and really make the most of the festive period. Family get togethers, partying with friends, Christmas drinks and nibbles, New Year celebrations etc – they’re all on many people’s schedules this time.
Extra people, lots of food, overdoing the tipples – these can all put added pressure on your toilets, your sinks, and your drains. If you have any niggling doubts about the robustness of any of them, now is the time to deal with them before the festivities really kick in.
Ask yourself:
These could all be red flags, indicating that everything is not quite as it should be and given that these things never just get better on their own, and that additional demand can only make things worse, ask yourself: “can I risk a broken toilet, blocked sink, or super-smelly drains over Christmas when I need them most?”
If the answer to that question is no, you need to deal with the issues without delay. Attending to minor concerns now will give you peace of mind that they will be able to cope with whatever the holidays throw at them. Plus (and this is also a big one) not only will it avoid a potentially tricky situation over Christmas, you also won’t have the added expense or hassle of having to get an emergency plumber in on Christmas Day because that is not how anyone wants to spend the most wonderful time of the year!
(Though, we will of course be here should you need us!).
