On 19th July 2021, the government's covid guidelines relax and changes like masks no longer being mandatory in enclosed spaces and social distancing not being required will be implemented. We have been working with strict covid protocols from the start of the pandemic because we wanted to keep both staff and customers safe and because our customers need to feel confident inviting someone into their homes for, often, vital services such as boiler breakdowns and interruption to washing and hygiene facilities.
In line with the new legislation, we have reviewed our working practices and have decided to maintain the vast majority of measures. We will continue to wear masks and PPE, we will continue to sanitise the areas we work in, and we'll continue to observe social distancing wherever possible. The only thing that will change is that we'll once more be asking customers to sign engineers' PDAs to confirm that the work has been completed. All equipment will continue to be sanitised before and after.
Of course, we support a return to normality and will be very pleased to ditch the masks when we feel it's appropriate to do so but we also acknowledge that it's paramount that people feel safe in their own homes and we hope that our continued measures demonstrate our commitment to this, while we're still living out this pandemic.
We also ask that customers work with us on this, continuing to give us a safe space to work and informing us of any potential infection or isolation status, as you have done throughout this ever changing situation.
All our covid working protocols can be found in our Coronavirus FAQs.
